"Wow, Scarlet Life was great last night.
Every song was danceable.
The style is heavy on the electronic sound.
The upright bass is a nice touch, and the scratch dj fits in well.
The vocals were fantastic.
Overall, the sound is similar to Delerium:
Dancy, electronic music with
beautiful female vocals.
Though the name is similar, it is not My Scarlet Life.
A few similarities in sound perhaps,
because Preston Klik's style shows in it.
I would say that most fans of My Scarlet Life will be pleased with this band." --Black Planet

Scarlet Life is Preston Klik's post-MSL band, and we're out playing shows now. We do NOT do any MSL material --so don't come expecting songs from BuzzBomb or InfraRed. That was a different band, with different singer(s).
Scarlet Life does continue on, however, somewhat in the tradition, with a GREAT lead female vocalist, and with a sensuously-charged dance / trip-hop vibe. The addition of an acoustic bass and a scratch DJ makes Scarlet Life both more acoustic AND more electric at the same time --we've stretched our far edges further!
We've put a lot of energy into the last year, getting the right people, creating the right sound, and a NEW sound it is. I think many people will be happy to see / hear Scarlet Life's new flavor of acousto-electronica. Our music is dancy and a bit loungy, hook-laden and soulful.
Scarlet Life 's debut CD, Sugar Spice Saccharin & Cyanide is available now. (It's REALLY good, IMHO!).

there is something about a good cover that gets the crowd moving.
The sonic textures are really trippy
but the music manages to stay out of that "sleepy" trip hop field.....

I enjoyed the extended intro featuring Zebulun (acoustic bass)
and the one-by-one emergence of each band member.
The music was more downtempo than I expected,
I am pleased that you are clearly navigating a new path with this group.
My eyes first noticed the tonal synergy
between Chandra's voice and Zebulun's bass;
to me, that is the epicenter of SCARLET LIFE's sound.
Chandra offered a very authentic and soulful performance.
There is no doubt that Chandra's voice is a perfect fit for this band. =)
Zebulan's bass is... oh, for lack of better adjective, "organic"
and therefore an appealing contrast
to the contemporary soundscapes that you and DJ Skeptik produce.
I am truly excited by the possibilities for this band;
given the instrumentation and downtempo,
tripped structures of the music,
there are no constraints,
no boundaries to what SCARLET LIFE can become.
